I totally forgot to mention this also:
- Got Confessor, the last book in The Sword of Truth series from Terry Goodkind. I don't want to finish it, but I want to know what happens!
- Totally looking forward to the mini-series of the Wizard's First Rule (the first book in the series) with Sam Raimi as the director.

- Got Leopard. Works great, I guess. Not sure what the big deal is yet. Will continue to use.
- Bought Guitar Hero III for the Wii. Best. Game. Ever. Love it.

So what's the big deal? Who knows, but I just ordered a copy of it. Oh and if you're not in the know, Leopard is the new version of OS X from Apple.

Yes, it seems "real" life is taking over and I will be away for a bit. I'm taking a hiatus from the blogging, and will be concentrating on other things that require my attention. I wish I could say I'm really good at multitasking, but it's simply not true. I'm sure you've noticed that the posts have been getting further and further apart.
Don't worry (as if), I'll be back.

26. I saved a man's life. I found my old list of "100 things about me you didn't know" and I'll probably use a lot of that for this list. Anyways, yes, it's true, I (and a coworker) saved a man's life. Many would attribute it to me, but I don't think so, I was just in the right place at the right time. I'll paint the picture for you. Imagine...
I'm outside the Acute Care Clinic (ACC), and yes, I was smoking. It was about 6:30 in the morning. I was just getting done with 24 hour duty, having slept all night in the ACC. Suddenly, I hear a marine yell out, "Man down! Man down!" and with amazing speed (which surprised me!) I looked around and saw a group of marines in the nearby softball field all gathered around someone. I quickly opened the door to the ACC and yelled to the first person I saw, "there's a marine down out here, I'll need help!" and so we both ran out into the field to see exactly what was going on.
When we got through the crowd of marines, we finally saw that a Top Gunny had suddently collapsed right after they had gotten here from jogging. My coworker slapped him around, and asked him, "Are you ok? Hello?" What happened next is one thing that I'll never forget for the rest of my life, I think. A marine, in the whiniest voice said, "No, doc, of course he's not ok!" I think I just about thought I was going to burst laughing, but you know, that would be too insensitive. Later, my coworker admitted he wanted to laugh too. But please realize, the first thing we learn is that you have to determine LOC (Level of Consciousness) when you get into a situation like this. Of course we knew he wasn't going to answer. He was in cardiac arrest. His heart stopped pumping. So immediately, we ordered the marines to gently lift him and bring him in the ACC.
From there, it was all typical hospital stuff. We managed to revive the Top and he was just fine after that. There's a bit more to this part of the story, but no one wants to hear about the crazy things that happen while you're doing chest compressions. A bit of cardiac care and he was off to spend many more years of life. For a while, we were the talk of the town, until someone else was saved or some other tragedy happened. But I will never forget what the doctor said about that day. "If it wasn't for that smoking corpsman, he would have never made it." While I'm not saying it was a good thing that I smoked at the time, I just got the warm fuzzies thinking that I made a difference in someone else's life.
Pretty neat huh? Yeah I don't like to talk about it much, since you know, I didn't do anything really spectacular per se. It almost seemed like I was someone else that day, but at the same time it was me. That wasn't the first time I ever had to do CPR or run through a code, but it was one of my memorable ones.

So this weekend was spent on a phototrip to various places in Washington State. The final destination was Wenatchee, where Meesh is currently working on Fire Dispatch. On the way, I managed to stop by Roslyn, WA, where the show Northern Exposure was filmed. It was quite the experience. They kept everything pretty much the same, which I think is really amazing. You can view the rest of the town on my Northern Exposure Photo Set.
I also managed to visit Snoqualmie, and take pictures of the Snoqualmie Falls again. It's so beautiful. I think someday, Meesh and I will have to go back to Salish Lodge. That was just a lot of fun.
Also while out at Wenatchee, Meesh was telling me about the Leavenworth. It sounds so awesome! It's "Washington's Bavarian Village". It sounds like so much fun! We're definitely going to have to check it out, sounds like some planning I have to do! I totally see a new road trip in the future for us, with the Mini Cooper.

25. I collect ghost stories. Ok, yes, I realize this might be similar to Fact 4, but I think they're just a little bit different. I love to hear people talk about crazy things that might have happened to them, and crazy ghosts they did see. I'm no skeptic, although I have many leanings towards it. I think I've seen enough to believe that there is something more out there than just stories and hoaxes. This just makes me remember the trip to New Orleans that Cybr and I made way back. We did the ghost tour, which started at 8:15pm, and there were some stories that were pretty creepy. I'm not exactly sure how many of the stories are really made up, but honestly, I'm not surprised that New Orleans could be one of the most haunted cities in the world.
Tell me your ghost stories, I want to hear all about them!

24. I'm the ultimate procrastinator. I mean constantly put things off. I start so many thing and keep pushing the completion date forward and forward because you know, I can finish it later, right? I mean why complete now, what I can

the list also includes SUV's as well as trucks. Yesterday, I went to the store to get some food, because the stock is getting low in the Yoshi household. I then came up with some things. Bulleted lists are fun!
- They use way too much gas. People really need to conserve gas, even if it's a bit lower than it was earlier this year.
- People don't know how to drive large trucks/SUV's. eg. When parking, you'll always see the big ass truck that is sticking out halfway out the parking spot. It's because the person who parked there has no concept of distance in their big ass truck, and doesn't realize that the front of the truck is about 6 feet away from the end of the spot.
- When going through drive thru's, all giant trucks should be banned, even if the top clearance is ok. Since people have no concept of distance in their big ass truck, they take up the entire distance of the drive thru, causing more mayhem.
- This also goes for small trailers. Any dumbass that brings a small trailer through a drive through should be SHOT.
Ok, the list isn't as big as I thought it would be, but honestly, do we need this big ass trucks out there still? If you use it to haul around stuff, then that's cool. Ok! But honestly. don't drive your truck/SUV through the McD's drive thru. Seriously.
Trucks, SUV, rant
